Account & Subscription
Your account manages orders and configurations. Your subscription link lets the client retrieve routes. Keep them separate and secure.
Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep them safe, and use a unique password for VPNShort. After opening the user dashboard, confirm your account details, then check your plan and client download options. Never post your password and subscription link together in a public forum. They serve different purposes, but both should be treated as account credentials. If you can't log in, check capitalization, your input method and browser autofill to make sure you haven't entered a password for another service.
Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I import it into a client?
Sign in to the user dashboard and find the link in the subscription section of your account overview. In your client, open the subscription import option, paste the link and save it. Then update the subscription and choose a route once the list appears. Menu names vary by client, so follow the options shown in your version. A subscription link retrieves route configurations; it isn't a regular webpage or an installer download. If the list is empty after importing, make sure the link was copied in full, then check your plan status and the client's message. Don't post the link publicly to ask someone to verify it.
How do I update my subscription link, and when should I import it again?
If you've already imported a subscription, update it from the client's subscription manager first, then select a route again. An update fetches the current configuration; you don't need to delete the existing one each time. Recheck the dashboard and import the link again if routes are missing, the client says the configuration is invalid, or the subscription link in your dashboard has changed. Follow the client's prompts and your actual usage; there's no need to refresh repeatedly. If the update fails, make sure your device is online and save the error message, then continue troubleshooting under Connection & Troubleshooting.
Do I need to buy again when I switch devices? Which platforms are supported?
There is no limit on simultaneous devices, and switching devices alone doesn't mean you need to buy again. Supported platforms: Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. On your new device, open the user dashboard to get the relevant client and, if needed, import your account's current subscription. Before using multiple devices, check your plan status and remaining data. Unlimited devices doesn't mean unlimited data. When you stop using an old device, remove its saved subscription configuration, especially before handing it over, sending it for repair or letting someone else use it.
What should I do if my subscription link is exposed?
Stop sharing the link and remove any public posts you can take down. Check the subscription section in your user dashboard for a reset option. If one is available, follow the instructions to replace the link, then update the saved configuration on each device. If you can't find that option, open a support ticket and explain what happened to ask about next steps. Changing your login password and replacing your subscription link are separate actions; don't assume one will invalidate the other. If you share a screenshot for help, hide the link, QR code and account credentials. The error message is enough.
Connection & Troubleshooting
First identify whether the issue is with your basic network, client configuration or destination app. Keep test conditions consistent so you can compare results.
The client won't connect at all. What should I check first?
Disconnect the client and make sure your device can reach familiar websites on your local network. Then check your plan status and remaining data in the user dashboard. Update the subscription, try a different route for comparison, and confirm that your system allows the client to create network connections. If another proxy or network-routing tool is running, quit it before testing to avoid conflicting settings. Change one thing at a time and note when the behavior changes. If your basic network connection isn't working, fix that first instead of repeatedly switching routes.
It says connected, but webpages still won't load. What should I do?
“Connected” usually means the client has established a connection state; it doesn't confirm that every website is reachable. Test a regular webpage and the site you're trying to access separately to see whether everything fails or only that service. Check that your system proxy, client mode and DNS settings match the current configuration, then try another route. Avoid changing several network settings at once so you can compare results. If your browser is showing a cached result, close the relevant tabs and reopen them. If the problem continues, note the site, error message and selected route, then submit a support ticket.
Why does my browser work, but a particular app doesn't use the proxy?
Apps can handle system proxy settings differently, so a working browser doesn't mean other apps use the same connection path. Check the client's current rule mode and see whether the app is assigned to connect directly. If the app has its own proxy settings, check those too. If the client offers a mode that routes traffic from more apps, read its instructions and confirm the required system permissions before testing. After switching modes, fully quit and reopen the app. If it still fails, note the app name and error instead of assuming the subscription is invalid.
The subscription update failed. Can I just delete all the configurations?
Don't delete all your configurations before checking what went wrong. First confirm your basic network connection works, then compare the subscription link in your dashboard with the one in the client. Check for extra spaces, line breaks or missing characters. Identify whether the client reports a network request failure, a configuration parsing error or an account status issue; each points to a different fix. Keep the current configuration name and error message for troubleshooting. If you need to import the subscription again, make sure the new configuration downloads successfully before removing the old one, so you don't lose a working option during troubleshooting.
My mobile device disconnects when the app goes into the background. What should I include in a support ticket?
Check your system's background activity and battery settings to make sure the client isn't restricted. Then check whether a network change triggers a reconnection. On the same network, compare how the client behaves in the foreground and background to distinguish system restrictions from a route issue. In your support ticket, include the device platform, system and client versions, route name, time of occurrence, network environment, error message and steps you've tried. Hide passwords and subscription links in screenshots; don't send these credentials as routine troubleshooting attachments.
Speed & Routes
Check route names, exit regions and the destination service's rules separately. A successful connection doesn't guarantee access to every service.
Which regions are covered, and how should I choose an exit location?
Coverage includes 120+ countries / 240+ routes. Check the current list in your user dashboard for available regions and route names, then update the subscription in your client before choosing one. Start with the region requirements of the service you're using, then compare actual connection performance; geographic distance alone isn't a reliable guide. The best choice for everyday browsing may differ from what's needed for content in a specific region. A route in a region doesn't guarantee that a service will accept it; account region, content licensing and the service's access rules can also affect availability.
How can I troubleshoot slow connections during peak hours?
Pause high-bandwidth activity on other devices and check whether your local network is also loading slowly. Then compare routes using the same destination page. Compare options that meet the service's regional requirements, and avoid changing the app, network and exit location at the same time; otherwise, it's hard to tell what helped. Peak-hour performance can depend on your local connection, cross-border routing and the destination service's load, so one test isn't conclusive. If a particular route keeps having issues, note the time, network environment and comparison results, then submit a reproducible example in a support ticket.
How do I choose between IEPL, relay and direct routes?
These names describe different route configurations and don't, by themselves, predict performance in every region. Refer to the labels in the current route list. First choose a route that meets the destination service's regional requirements, then test the connection and ongoing access with apps you use regularly. If several route types are available for the same region, compare them on the same network. A route type doesn't guarantee results for every app, and popular regions may not offer every type. To ask about a specific route's configuration, provide its exact name when contacting support.
What should I do if ChatGPT or a streaming service says my region isn't available?
First make sure the selected exit region is currently supported by the service, then check your account region and subscription status with that service. After switching regions, an existing session or cached data may still reflect the previous location. Close and reopen the relevant page or app before testing again. Avoid switching between multiple regions repeatedly in a short time, as this can make results harder to interpret. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and streaming platforms each have their own access and content rules. A working route doesn't guarantee the service will be available; check the service itself to confirm.
Will switching routes frequently fix every slow connection?
Not necessarily. If the problem comes from your local Wi-Fi, bandwidth used by other apps, background tasks on your device or the destination service, changing routes repeatedly may not help. Keep the destination page and test network consistent, check other activity, then compare routes. Once you find one that works, stick with it and see whether the issue affects only a particular app. For long-running tasks, check the app's timeout and retry messages too. When contacting support, describe the steps you took and what happened; that helps distinguish local, route and destination service issues better than simply saying it's slow.
Billing & Refunds
Monthly plans and data packages have different rules. Check your current order details before paying, upgrading or requesting a refund.
How much is a monthly plan, and when does data reset?
Monthly plans cost ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date, not at the start of each calendar month. Before choosing a plan, estimate your data needs based on how you browse, stream video and transfer files. There is no limit on simultaneous devices, but you should still keep an eye on your remaining data. After activation, check your plan status and reset information in the user dashboard. If you have questions about a reset record, include the status you see and the relevant order in a support ticket so it can be checked.
What's the difference between a data package and a monthly plan?
Data packages cost ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB and ¥658 for 3000GB. They don't expire and remain available until used. Monthly plans reset data each month on the activation date, so their usage rules differ. Consider whether you need ongoing or occasional access rather than comparing only the upfront price. If you already have a plan, check the current dashboard information before switching or adding another. The order in which data is deducted when plans are combined isn't specified, so don't assume how it works. If you have questions about existing balances or data, check with support through a ticket first.
Can I upgrade my plan partway through, and how is the price difference handled?
The price difference for a mid-term upgrade is converted into remaining days. Before upgrading, review your current plan, the target plan and the order confirmation in the user dashboard. Don't assume that paying a fixed difference automatically starts a new full term, and don't calculate it by calendar month. If the confirmation page doesn't match what you expect, stop and ask through a support ticket before proceeding to avoid creating duplicate orders. Order details are enough to help support investigate; don't send your login password or full subscription link.
Which payment methods are supported, and what if my plan doesn't update after payment?
Supported payment methods: Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Pay through the order section in your user dashboard and follow the instructions on the current page. If your account status hasn't changed after payment, return to the original order to check its status, then refresh your account information. Don't pay repeatedly just because the page hasn't updated yet. If the payment record and order status don't match, submit a support ticket with the order details, payment method, time and a receipt with sensitive information hidden. Don't send money to a payment destination that isn't shown in the dashboard, and don't share account credentials as proof of payment.
How do I request a refund, and what information do I need?
A 30-day refund policy is available. Sign in to the user dashboard and use the support ticket option to request a refund, including the relevant order details so the payment and request status can be checked. See the Terms of Service for the full refund policy. This page makes no additional promises about processing times, refund methods or other terms. You don't need to finish every troubleshooting step or write a detailed technical report before requesting a refund. If needed, add information to the original ticket rather than opening multiple conversations about the same issue.
